HONEST REVIEW OF LOVEVERY.
I’m sure you’ve all seen the advertisements for the Lovevery Play Gym and Play Kits. They aren’t the cheapest options available, so are they worth it? What sets them apart? So far we’ve tried the Play Gym and Play Kits, continue reading for our experience with both and my honest review.
The first thing that drew me in with Lovevery is the gorgeous design of their products. I was looking for a play gym that didn’t stick out like a sore thumb and somewhat matched the decor of my house (I was hoping to keep a cohesive look in my home even once toys were strewn about) and the Lovevery kept popping up. So I did a little research, and found that it was designed by child development experts which really caught my attention because not only did I want a good looking product, I wanted one that would encourage learning and grow with my baby. Once I found out that their products were designed by a team of child development researchers, it was off to the races. I mean, what mother doesn’t want their baby to hit all the developmental milestones when they are supposed to (or before 😏). I was hooked.
PLAY GYM
The first thing we tried was the Play Gym. My sweet sister and her husband got it for us as a baby shower gift. What I love most about the Play Gym, besides it’s gorgeous looks, is that it has interchangeable cards that are catered to different ages. This way you are providing designs that your baby can recognize at their specific stage of development, therefore encouraging learning and preventing boredom.
There are five different development zones that reveal or conceal to prevent overstimulation and promote learning which include learning to focus, making sounds, how things feel, hiding and finding, exploring colors, and a play space cover for imaginative play (its like a little tent). The Play Gym also includes baby-tested, removable objects including an organic cotton high contrast Montessori ball, a sustainably-sourced wooden batting ring, and an organic cotton teether with a BPA-free silicone ring.
It also comes with a Play Guide with inspiration and activities from child development specialists which is super helpful when you are trying to figure out things to do with your ever changing baby and their ever changing interests. Other key factors that appealed to me are:
FSC sustainably harvested wood legs
All water-based non-toxic finishes
Learning Cards are printed with soy ink
Teething toys are made with 100% organic cotton
Play Mat is made with machine-washable polyester materials that are batch tested to be non-toxic and baby safe
The plastic and silicone components are manufactured without BPA and phthalates
VERDICT
Get it. I’m a major fan. Looks beautiful, encourages growth and development. Definitely worth the money. We love this Play Gym!
PLAY KITS
The newest addition to our Lovevery collection are the Play Kits. They are perfect, wonder-inducing play essentials, delivered stage by stage and designed by experts. I love this idea because they deliver you new playthings every 2 or 3 months that are specific for your baby’s age and developmental stage and are designed to foster brain development.
In true Lovevery fashion, not only are these playthings perfect for learning, but they are beautifully designed, heirloom quality toys. Think beautiful wooden toys, great board books, puzzles, stackables, all sorts of stuff! Plus just like the Play Gym, the Play Kits come with a play guide full of ideas for how to play, backed by all the research you don’t have time to read.
Every piece of wood that comes with the Play Kits is sourced from FSC-compliant sustainable sources. They are thoughtfully designed, Montessori inspired playthings made with soft, natural 100% organic cotton and are compliant with ASTM F963 and rigorously tested with leading third-party labs.
Its super simple to get started and you can easily give the Kits as a gift as well! Just create an account for your child, subscribe to the Play Kits starting at the right stage, and receive a box every 2-3 months depending on stage. You can start the subscription at whatever age your child is, so no need to worry if you have a toddler and are wanting to start now.
VERDICT
Worth it. Subscription services are all the rage, and this one does not disappoint. The Play Kits are a little pricy, but the toys are heirloom quality, well made, and backed by tons of research so I’m all for it.
the Block Set is awesome as well! asher is 3 years old now and he still plays with it every day. definitely worth the money and has so many learning opportunities for toddlers.
